of Education, KKU&#8217;s &#8220;Hometown Teacher Project&#8221; Wins 1st Runner-Up for Good Practice, Reinforcing its Mission to Develop Quality Teachers for Communities<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>July 1, 2024 | Sarasin Meeting Room, Sirikunakorn Building, Office of the President, Khon Kaen University &#8211; The Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University, has achieved significant recognition for its \u201cCreating Educational Opportunities for Students in Remote Areas to Become a New Generation of Teachers for Community School Quality Development, Academic Year 2024 (The Hometown Teacher Project, Khon Kaen University).\u201d The project won the 1st runner-up award for Good Practice in the Humanities and Social Sciences category. The event was organized by Khon Kaen University to honor projects that demonstrate excellent implementation of good governance principles and effectively support the university&#8217;s mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The award ceremony was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University, who presented the award alongside Mr. Surapon Petch-Vra, Vice President of the Khon Kaen University Council, and the Good Governance Committee. Representing the Faculty of Education to receive the award were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Issara Kanjug, Dean of the Faculty of Education; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jarunee Samart, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs; Prof. Dr. Sumalee Chaijaroen, Advisor to the Dean; and the team of faculty members and staff who manage the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hometown Teacher Project is a strategic collaboration between the Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University, and the Equitable Education Fund (EEF). It aims to promote educational equity and address the shortage of teachers in remote areas. The project selects capable students who are passionate about their hometowns to enroll in the Bachelor of Education program, with the ultimate goal of them returning as a new generation of high-quality teachers to strengthen and sustain their local schools and communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Assoc.
