About Us | Faculty of Education


The Faculty of Education (ED) Khon Kaen University (KKU) was officially established in 1968 at Ban Sri Than Village (Currently the KKU Art and Culture Museum) in order to meet the increasing demand for teachers throughout the country, to balance the educational quality between central and regional institutions, and to support the educational and psychological researches in the northeastern region of Thailand.

Facts & Figures

  • Secondary Education was formally announced in 1969 as the first Bachelor program.
  • The first two Master programs in Educational Technology and Science Education were founded in 1982.
  • Doctoral degree on Education, with the cooperation of Deakin University from Australia, was offered to qualified students in 1996.
  • International Program of TESOL was launched in 2004.
  • 3,800 undergraduate and graduate students including international students
  • 180 lecturers and staff
  • 4,700 students (demonstration schools)
  • 400 teachers and staff (demonstration schools)
  • 17 fields of study are offered for undergraduates and graduates including 10 programs for Bachelor of Education, 9 master and 6 doctoral programs.




The seal of Faculty of Education is a lotus which represents the growing generation of   educators, while the symbolic color is orange.
